Marilyn Rainey was born on April 1, 1953 and became a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Ohio. She fell asleep in death on August 31, 2024, at the age of 71.
Marilyn attended both Glenville and Collinwood High School. She graduated from Collinwood before furthering her education at Tri-C (Cuyahoga Community College).
In the late 1980s she decided to dedicate her life to being one of Jehovah's Witnesses, embracing her faith with favor and commitment.
Marilyn was known for her wit and rapid thinking. She was faced with many challenges from a young age but always persevered.
She was a loving mother of two children who embraced motherhood with open arms, which extended beyond her immediate family. Her nurturing spirit extended to the children of other family members as well, ensuring all who entered her home were cared for and provided for regardless of her own means.
She is survived by a legacy of love and memories cherished by her children, Myron G. Rainey Sr. and Demetra L. Rainey; her adored grandchildren, Myron G. Rainey Jr., Davon M. Rainey Sr., and Tavanna Jackson; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Davon M. Rainey Jr., Myron G. Rainey 3rd, Carianna V. Hubbard, and Pax M. Bobbit.
Her memory is also honored by her sister Marguerite Phillips; brother Albert D. Rainey Jr.; and 17 nieces and nephews, and a ton of great nieces and nephews and her devoted daughter-in-law Tamika.
She is preceded in death by her late parents, Albert Dean Sr. and Margaret Rainey; her sisters Dorothy Hawkins and Roseann Wilson; and her brother-in-law Marvin Wilson Sr. and her brother Charles A. Rainey.
